The Luna Rossa sailing and shore crew have all returned to the team’s Auckland base

I velisti e tutto il team di Luna Rossa sono tornati alla base di Auckland per riprendere il programma di allenamento e sviluppo. Il programma di gennaio prevede di sfruttare al meglio le 13 giornate rimanenti consentite dal Protocollo per navigare con l'AC72 entro la scadenza del 31 gennaio. Questa settimana, il team si concentrerà sulle sessioni di pratica di match race, utilizzando i due catamarani AC45 Luna Rossa Swordfish e Luna Rossa Piranha. Entrambe le imbarcazioni sono tornate a Auckland da San Francisco alla conclusione delle ultime regate della America’s Cup World Series a ottobre 2012.

Contemporaneamente, un altro gruppo di velisti si allenerà sul catamarano SL33 per perfezionare le tecniche di foiling.

 

A partire dalla prossima settimana, l'equipaggio riprenderà gli allenamenti sul catamarano Luna Rossa AC72. 

 

Gli obiettivi principali di questo periodo saranno sia le sessioni di allenamento dell'equipaggio sui percorsi di regata che i test di velocità. Nelle prossime settimane, il lavoro di allenamento sull'AC72 si alternerà con le uscite con gli AC45 e con il SL33.

 

The Luna Rossa sailing and shore crew have all returned to the team’s Auckland base to resume the training and  development program.

 

The plan for January is to make the most of the 13 remaining days allowed by the Protocol to sail the AC72 prior to the January 31st deadline.

 

This coming  week the team will be concentrating on match racing practice sessions with its two AC45 catamarans Luna Rossa Swordfish and Luna Rossa Piranha. Both boats were shipped back to Auckland from San Francisco following the end of the last America’s Cup World Series regattas in October 2012.

At the same time an additional group of sailors will be training on the SL33 catamaran to practice foiling techniques.

 

Starting from next week the crew will resume training on the Luna Rossa AC72 catamaran. 

 

The main  goals for this first period will be a mix of crew training sessions around the course and speed tests. The training work on the  AC72 will be alternated in the coming weeks with practice on the AC45 boats and on the SL33.
