We’re
currently in the midst of the Volvo Ocean Race, one of the most
grueling sailing competitions in the world. And it’s got us thinking,
what if we hadn’t had
exposure to the tools and training needed to get us where we are today? Last July we visited
Rocking the Boat, a Bronx, NY-based non profit that uses boat building to empower disadvantaged youth to set ambitious goals
and gain the skills necessary to achieve them.
Our
two organizations, although completely diverse, are unified by a
passion for sailing. We want to offer our support to the volunteers from
Rocking the Boat, in
turn helping them to continue transforming the lives of their students.
We’ve set up a unique
GoFundMe campaign
to fundraise for a new 20-foot rigid inflatable boat (RIB) so they can
easily transport kids from the clubhouse to the sailboats in the open
water! Less transport time = more learning!
Interested in helping to support this initiative and to help build the next generation of sailors?
Please
join us by making a donation to our GoFundMe page, every cent will go
to Rocking the Boat at the completion of this campaign.
Thank you for helping us support Rocking the Boat!
Best,
Team AkzoNobel
