Olympic Sailing News - 8 August 2016

Day one is done. The wait is over. The competition has started.   Day one showed the world that this sailing competition is going to be a thrilling one. A mix of results and conditions with some of the pre event favourites showing they are just that, while others will have to just take a tough day on the chin. You can read everything Day one by clicking on the news links below.

For the Laser and RS:X sailors there will be a chance to make good on their day one start or a chance to right some wrongs when they head out on to Guanabara Bay, but with a switch up in the courses to add another element of intrigue in the battle for medals, yet again, anything can happen.

The heavyweights join the action tomorrow as the Finn boys begin their racing. As always we will have everything you need on our dedicated World Sailing Olympic website and on the World Sailing social media pages. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as Snapchat, just search for worldsailing.

You can follow the racing via our Live Blog http://www.sailing.org/olympics/rio2016/multimedia/live_blog.php and don't forget our Facebook LIVE morning and afternoon reports with Andy Rice and guests.
