GENOVA - Guido
Miani and his team, sailing for Yacht Club de Monaco, are the winners
of the second edition of the Boat Show Act - Sailing Series® - M32 Mediterranean. After
15 races concluded in light/medium conditions, sailing just outside an
overcrowded Genoa Boat Show, Team Neverland, well recovered after the
"Millevele Party" that last night has been hosted at Yacht Club
Italiano, showed good speed and performances in the battle against
Vitamina Veloce.
This last with Andrea Lacorte at the helm, taking advantage of the experience of the Match Racing champion Torvar Mirsky, battled till the last race, despite the unsolved problem at the main traveler.
Team
Alabarda, from Trieste, with former 49er olimpic sailor Stefano Cherin
at the helm, well performed at their first appearance at Sailing Series®,
finishing third overall in this M32 event. This young team was
extremely enthusiastic and will be again a strong opponent in their home
event at Barcolana in two weeks.
Today
several guests have been hosted on board of the M32s, these included
the fresh 470 female world bronze madalist Ilaria Paternoster, and
present 470 male champion team Matteo Puppo and Matteo Capurro.
The
prize giving has been hosted at the main theatre of the Boat Show at
the presence of Dott. Marco Bucci, mayor of the town of Genova, Dott.
Francesco Ettorre, president of Italian Sailing Federation, Dott.ssa
Marina Stella, managing director of the Genoa Boat Show, and last but
not least Dott. Nico Reggio, president of Yacht Club Italiano, hosting
club of this event.
Sailing Series® and
M32 Mediterranean are now heading to the event of October 5-7th in
Trieste, for the final act of the season, that will crown the M32
Mediterranean champion.
