Olympic Sailing News - 7 August 2016

Just look at that picture.    On the eve of racing at Rio 2016, the picture above is a stunning piece of art by JR Artist who says, "This is Mohamed Younes Idress, a Sudanese athlete who couldn't make it to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games because of an injury. He still came to Rio and jumps over a building in Flamengo."

#ViewsYouOnlyGetFromTheSailingVenue - This is just one of the stunning images you will see from the Olympic Sailing Competition over the coming days. But let's not forget, it's not all about the scenery, it's also about medals. But, that stunning scenery will play a part.

Sailing is in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, in an amazing backdrop. A backdrop which will crown the best all-round sailor with seven race areas inside and outside Guanabara Bay, effected by natural beauty spots like Sugarloaf Mountain, which will test each and every sailor. It may look beautiful to the watching public, but it causes more challenges for the Olympic sailors to test their mettle.

Tomorrow will be the start of sailing being showcased to the world, showcased in stunning imagery only sailing can deliver at Rio 2016. Tomorrow we are in front of the world.
