Intense Racing At RS:One Asian Championships

The SIM 34th RS:One Asian Championships in Singapore came to a close on the 25 January after four days of intense racing in varied wind conditions, from mixed planning to tactical pumping. Shifty conditions and 6- 11 knots greeted sailors on the final day providing perfect conditions for the final two races to complete the series.   The current RS:One World Champion, Cheng Kwok Fai (HKG) showed his experience and dominated the fleet to win the Asian Championships in a comfortable fashion while the younger Zan Zhichao from China put up a good fight and has potential for the future.
In the women's division, Chinese sailor Li Xiaoyan took the title by the narrowest of margins from Ngai Wan Yan from (HKG).

The under 22 years old title wwas won by Zan Zhichao (CHN) ahead of Hong Kong sailors Lee Chun Tin and Hen Ho Yin.

The Hong Kong team once again showed incredible consistency and experience, however China is the country to watch.

We are now looking forward to the ASAF youth cup to be held in Hong Kong from 14-17 February as the next RS:One International event!
