Puerto Portals, July
28th 2016 - When at the conclusion of the Puerto Portals Sailing Week
still miss just two races, Bronenosec Gazprom (Liubomirov-Ivaldi, 8-1)
confirms itself as third force of the fleet with three points margin on
Provezza (Imre-Beadsworth, 9-6) while the first hour leader Quantum
Racing (DeVos-Hutchinson, 1-3) mortgaged the victory thanks a nine
points gap imposed to Azzurra (Parada-Vascotto, 2-7). Also today in the
Palma Bay the 52 Super Series fleet met some South-Westerly sea breeze,
that blew more sluggishly than yesterday.
The bearer hull of the
Saint Petersburg Yacht Club, that is leading the Puerto Portals Sailing
Week owner/driver ranking, had to cope with some problems during the
procedure of Race 7 and  was forced to a comeback regatta, while in Race
8 Bronenosec Gazprom had a great start for which it could sail in clean
air stretching up on the fleet tack after tack.
"Dr. Jekyll or Mr
Hyde? We are both, I think. This is the way we are sailing now but it is
not only us, is the fleet that is like this. If you have a bad start
it's really hard to get back due to the fact that the fleet is very high
skill while, if you have a good start and some good speed, you can stay
on top and this is what we have now. We went back on the speed of the
boat and we can sail with the blue power button all the way down, that
is a trick we have onboard. But, as you know, no one is giving anything" Bronenosec Sailing Team's navigator Francesco Mogelli explained at the end of the day.
Puerto Portals Sailing Week will end tomorrow afternoon with other two windward-leeward races. The event will count on a ten races series, with no discard allowed.
