Talamone, Italy - It was a great day of racing in Talamone, Italy at the third act of 2016 Sailing Series® Melges 32. Three races are now complete with Richard Goransson's Inga From Sweden tied in equal points with Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio sailing G-SPOT sharing first place overall.
Currently
seated third and clearly on the path to making a name for himself in a
winning sort of way, Matteo Balestrero at the helm of Giogi
sits only one point away from the top two overall leaders. Taking into
account that he won the last event (Porto Ercole) and his fantastic
first day win in Race Three in Talamone, there are indications that his
end goals remain high.
Continuing to impress are Norway's Lasse Petterson on Pippa (fourth) and Fritz Homann's Wilma
(fifth). Each of these brilliant and exciting teams took home a bullet
each. Although a few points behind in the overall standings, no team
should let their guard down with these two powerhouses on the race
course.
Three more races are scheduled for Saturday, Day Two in Talamone.
